Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – No Release Date
Easily the biggest announcement of the show was that Metal Gear Solid 3 is receiving a remake as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. This title has been rumored for years now, and it’s amazing to think that the adventures of Big Boss and Solid Snake aren’t over just yet. The big question is whether David Hayter is back on board to voice Naked Snake?
Final Fantasy XVI – June 22, 2023
The least surprising appearance during the PlayStation Showcase was Final Fantasy XVI, as the game is set to launch in a few weeks, with final previews already being sent out. Nevertheless, there was a trailer giving one last look at the action-packed fantasy RPG ahead of its upcoming release.
Alan Wake 2 – October 17, 2023
Alan Wake 2 has been briefly shown during events in the past, but we finally got a better look at it during the PlayStation Showcase. It seems that nightmarish horrors are pursuing Mr. A. Wake… again. He should ditch that horror writer job and become a mailman or something, as he’ll encounter fewer monsters in that position.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage – October 12, 2023
The heavily-leaked next entry in the Assassin’s Creed series was featured during the PlayStation Showcase, as the series returns to the middle east, taking to the streets of Baghdad. The new protagonist is an assassin named Basim, who joins a mysterious organization called The Hidden Ones and must kill many people in sneaky ways as part of the membership.
Street Fighter 6 – June 2, 2023
Like Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter 6’s presence during the show was no surprise, considering it will launch soon. The new trailer didn’t feature any big announcements, and it was mostly a reminder to fans that it’s on the way, with a few of the pre-order bonuses listed and a look at the story mode.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 – No Release Date
One of the few holdouts of the GeForce Now leak was finally revealed, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 was announced during the PlayStation Showcase. What can we say other than it looks awesome, and we can’t wait to mount some griffons once more, preferably while holding a gigantic sword?
Resident Evil 4 VR Mode – No Release Date
Capcom has easily been the best supporter of the PSVR hardware, and the PSVR 2 is no exception, as Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to receive a VR Mode in the future. This means the player can experience the wonderful sensation of a chainsaw being pressed against their face in virtual reality.
Gran Turismo (The Movie) – August
No, this isn’t an Isekai where Orlando Bloom becomes a talking car. This is an actual movie about real-life events, as a professional gamer used their skills in Gran Turismo to become a race car driver. Can it dethrone The Super Mario Bros. movie as the highest-grossing movie based on a video game? No.
Project Q & PlayStation Ear Buds – No Release Date
During the event, Sony announced two new products: Project Q and Sony Earbuds. Project Q is a device with an 8-inch screen intended to stream PS5 games, either through wifi or Remote Play, with a controller that has the functions of the DualSense. The Earbuds are just wireless earbuds that promise lossless audio. Fans are already calling Project Q the PS5’s Wii U Gamepad, and it’s easy to see the comparison.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Fall 2023
The big closer of the show was an expanded look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with an extended gameplay sequence showing Kraven the Hunter seeking out The Lizard in New York City. He’s stopped by Peter Parker, who is now wearing the Venom symbiote, and Miles Morales. This was the perfect way to end the show, and it gave the PS5 its big 2023 holiday season game.
