This Nintendo Switch error guide provides fix for Black Screen or completely no image displayed on the TV issue. Before moving on to the detailed guide on how to fix the issue I would like to present few scenario where no image is displayed on the TV screen. The first situation is when the Nintendo Switch is docked there is no image displayed on the TV screen. Secondly, Nintendo Switch will not take up from the sleep mode while it is docked.

Nintendo Switch - Blank Screen And No Image Displayed Issue

Also, you should be well aware of the fact that the Nintendo Switch is compatible ONLY with the Nintendo Switch AC adapter, the model number is HAC-002. While the Nintendo Switch console is placed in the dock, the LCD screen will automatically shut off as the software application will be displayed on the TV screen.

Here are the steps you need to follow to fix Nintendo Switch’s Black Screen or No image displayed on the TV:

  • Step 1: Power off the TV and ensure that it is correctly connected to the Nintendo Switch console. If the HDMI cable is connected to a sound bar or another device, remove that device temporarily and connect the HDMI cable directly to the TV set.
  • Step 2: Ensure the Nintendo Switch console is placed in the dock with the LCD screen facing in the same direction as the front panel on the dock (as shown in the image below).
  • Step 3: Power on the TV, then press the POWER Button on the console. Ensure the correct HDMI input is selected on the TV.

Now check whether the image displayed on the TV? If yes then continue using, and if it is not then

  • Step 4: Power off the TV and unplug the HDMI cable from the TV and the dock.
  • Step 5: Unplug the AC adapter from the dock and from the wall outlet for at least 20 seconds. While waiting, check for the following: Are you using the original Nintendo Switch AC adapter (model No. HAC-002)? If yes, then check if it is physically damaged or not, and are you using the original adapter.

There is a possibility that you are facing this issue due to the use of faulty AC adapter for Nintendo Switch. Buy an original adapter from Nintendo.
