The best moveset for Hydreigon in Pokémon Go

The best attacks to teach Hydreigon in Pokémon Go.

Hydreigon has multiple movesets in Pokémon Go. Unfortunately, it’s an elusive and hard-to-find Pokémon, making it one of the more coveted captures in the mobile game, and you won’t always have the opportunity to mess with its skills. When you get your hands on it, we want to ensure you can use it to its highest potential in raids, against other players, or while battling Team Rocket. You will need to teach it a suitable moveset to do this. This guide covers the best moveset to teach Hydreigon in Pokémon Go.

Best moveset for Hydreigon

Hydreigon is a Dark and Dragon-type Pokémon. It will be weak against Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Fighting, and Ice-type moves, but it is resistant against Dark, Electric, Fire, Ghost, Grass, Psychic, and Water-type attacks. Hydreigon has a substantial combat power (CP), with a maximum CP of 3,625, meaning you will get the most out of this Pokémon by using it in the Ultra and Master Leagues.

Of the two choices, we highly recommend it in the Master League, which means it will face off against some of the best Pokémon in the game.

These are all of the moves Hydriegon can learn.

Fast moves

  • Bite (Dark-type) – 4 damage and 2 energy per turn (4 damage per turn) – 1 turn
  • Dragon Breath (Dragon-type) – 4 damage and 3 energy per turn (4 damage per turn) – 1 turn

Charged moves

  • Brutal Swing (Dark-type) – 65 damage and 40 energy
  • Dark Pulse (Dark-type) – 80 damage and 50 energy
  • Dragon Pulse (Dragon-type) – 90 damage and 60 energy
  • Flash Cannon (Steel-type) – 110 damage and 70 energy

When it comes down to picking Hydreigon’s fast move, we recommend Dragon Breath. It’s a solid Dragon-type attack similar to Bite, except Dragon Breath gives Hydreigon one additional energy, making it the go-to option for any Hydreigon build. Dragon Breath is the best fast move available regardless of the charge moves you select.

Now, for Hydreigon’s charged moves, the best choices to make of these four will be Brutal Swing and Flash Cannon. Typically, the second option would be Dark Pulse or Dragon Pulse because these do not cost as much as Flash Cannon. However, picking up Flash Cannon on Hydreigon means it will have three different types of attacks, giving it a wide variety of options to use during a battle, and Flash Cannon is supereffective against Fairy-types. These attacks make Hydregon effective against Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, Ice, Psychic, and Rock-type, giving you the chance to counter multiple Pokémon.

The best moveset to teach Hydreigon is the fast move Dragon Breath and the charged moves Brutal Swing and Flash Cannon.
