We were fools to think the magic of monster-catching games lay solely in storing them in spheres. What truly makes the genre shine is putting them all to work all day (and maybe all night, too) while you’re out exploring the world. It’s kind of like having an unpaid maid at home while you take a sabbatical to backpack all over the world. In this guide, I’ll show you how to get the best mining pals in Palworld, both for the early game and mid-to-late game.

In the table below, we’ve listed the best Pals to use for mining in Palworld during the early game. We’d say this period is from level 1 to 15, depending on what players do in that time. If players are advancing their Technology Tree and pushing further and further into the world, they’ll surpass this point pretty quickly. If, however, they’re sat at their base, letting their Pals level them up, they might need to put more effort in before they need any more efficient Pals.

The table below shows every Pal we’d recommend players use for mining in Palworld when they’re in the mid to late game, around level 20 onwards. The game can be quite challenging from this point on, so it’s worth players having powerful Pals that will not only be useful in the field but also for farming Ore back at base.

How to Automatically Farm Stone, Coal, Ore, and Sulfer in Palworld

Players can get their Pals to farm all types of rock and Ore in Palworld automatically by building a base where those resources spawn. If players see Ore in a location, it’s best to set up a small base there with a Feed Box, a Berry Plantation, and release a few Pals with the mining skill there. This will see them happily work away while they’ve got enough food and warm beds.

Players can set up multiple bases in Palworld, and it’s very much worth doing this to optimize material gathering. A great spot with six Coal rocks and six Iron Ore Rocks is at coordinates (190, -38) on the map. Players should ensure their Pals only have the mining skill if they want them to mine as much Stone and Ore as possible. Of course, Pals with the transportation skill will also be needed to put the minerals mined into a box.

The only downside to having multiple bases farming different resources is that players will need to visit the base with the resources they need when they want them. This isn’t the end of the world, but it can be a bit annoying if players are stocked up with Arrows and Pal Spheres.

Can You Increase a Pal’s Mining Skill in Palworld?

Yes, players can increase the mining skill and efficiency of their Pals in Palworld using the Pickaxe and Helmet and Pall Essence Condenser items from the Technology Tree. The Pickaxe and Helmet increases the mining efficiency of all Pals in that base. The Pal Essence Condenser can be used to combine several Pals of the same type and make a higher-ranked version of them with better stats and skills.

The easiest way for players to boost the mining skill of their Pals is to build and place a Pickaxe and Helmet. We also don’t recommend using the Pal Essence Condenser as a foolproof solution because it can be finicky. Instead, it’s better to breed Pals with the mining skill because their offspring will have the skills from both parents, making it a better miner. This takes a while and a lot of Cake, but it’s worth it.
