In this God of War Walkthrough – Jotunheim in Reach, Kratos will have to locate Mimir’s eye to travel to the realm of giants, he is also going to fight his final fight with the Main Boss Baldur in this chapter.

In previous Chapter 14 Between The Realms, after returning from the tower Kratos has to go to Tyr’s travel room and then enter the serpent mouth to find Mimir’s eye in Chapter 15 Jotunheim in Reach. Also in this chapter, Kratos will be in his final battle with Baldur, son of Odin and Freya.

Return to Tyr’s travel room

Head straight to the tower with a huge statue in front of you. Once again you will be in a room of Tree of Life. You have to travel to Jotunheim. Once the travel fails to talk to the dwarfs for Mimir’s eye. After talking to the brothers return to the Serpent horn. So you will be returning to Midgard. Blow the Serpent horn on the bridge.

Boat into the Serpent’s mouth

Go to the boat, enter the serpent mouth, and in there you have to locate Mimir’s eye. Paddle straight ahead, till you locate the statue. Once you are out of the boat, look on your lift for a wooden lift. Hit the lower platform with an axe to rotate it on the left end. To climb break the wooden logs on the left side. Once you are on the lift, you can rotate the lift once again by hitting with an axe. Climb up on your left there is a chest where you will get the eye.

Return to Tyr’s travel room

Get back the boat, keep paddling, in a cutscene you will see Kratos is thrown out from the Serpent stomach after Baldur attacks the snake. After the cutscene, there will be a fierce fight between Kratos and Baldur.

How To Defeat Baldur

This is the final boss fight where you will be dealing with Baldur. There will be around 5 Phases of battle with Baldur, and each will bring out different challenges.

How To Defeat Boss Baldur Phase 1 Fight

As the fight begins you will see the green health bar of Baldur at the center bottom of the screen. Using the Blade of Chaos will be first at the start, and Baldur will also restore his health instantly. So this is the annoying part. Atreus arrows are also required as a backup, go with shock arrows to stun him and then attack. During the fight you will see Kratos and Baldur will be tapped into vines, you have to pull out fast. After you attacked Baldur trapped in veins, he will attack and Kratos is the second now to be caught up.

How Defeat Boss Baldur Phase 2 Fight

After getting attacked by mistletoe, Baldur will be vulnerable to attacks. He was invincible before, but now the spell is broken. The second phase will be tougher, switch to Blade of Chaos. Freya will bring up the dead giant which you will see in a cutscene. After getting landed back on the ground, the fight begins. He will pretty fast know, use your shield to defend yourself. Whenever you spot him it means he is attacking, you can throw back this attacks through a shield. he will release a shockwave after turning blue. Use the Blades and keep your shield ready. This will go for a long time until the next cutscene appear, where Freya tries to protect Baldur. Lift up the giants hand and shoot on the crystal.

How To Defeat Boss Baldur Phase 3 Fight

Atreus will be separated from Kratos and Freya will summon some enemies. Along with Baldur, you have to tackle them also. Target down the small ones first, and then focus on Baldur. You can dodge his attacks when he approaches you. Atreus stun arrow will help a lot. Switching to a new type of attack Baldur will be using fire now. He will release shockwaves, fire kick, etc. He will fly up in the air and below you can see around fire circle, stay away from it, this is the place where he will land with full force. Once more than half of his health is drawn, Freya will once again block the fight.

The next fight will be up in the air. You will begin by blocking attacks from Baldur. Atreus will be using a lot of arrows on Baldur, but this is not going to stop him. At a point when Baldur grabs Kratos and Boys neck, you will see a control for using Spartan rage against him.

In the last final phase of the fight, Baldur will change its elemental appearance and depend on that you will be using the weapon. For example, if turns blue use the blade on him and when he is using fire use the axe. He will switch really fast, you have to be quick and he will be using a different type of attacks instantly. Especially jumping up in the air and coming down with full force. Look for the fire ring and ice ring below. Attacking with the right weapon will help you out to reduce Baldur’s health. He will be more fierce in the end, and this will take a long time. Freya will interfere once again, but Atreus will call the giant serpent for help.
