Trick Shot Tips

How To Perform Trick Shot

Below are two methods that will help you to perform Trick Shot. Practice them for some time and then try out in the main event.

Method 1 – Using Right Analog Stick

In this method you have to be quick, you can tap the Right Analog Stick in the direction you are moving. For example, if the ball is hit on the right of your character, tap to right. Once you are a tap in the direction Mario will be locked to perform the Trick Shot animation. From here you cannot cancel it, so you have to tap in the direction of the ball or else you will miss it. If you are able to get this successfully Mario will perform some acrobatic movements in the air and swing the racquet. As soon as the racquet touches the ball press the desired shot button like A for topspin.

Method 2 – Double Tap X

This one is a bit easier compared to the above one, you just to double tap X while holding the direction using Left Analog Stick. Similar to above once Mario is locked into Trick Shot Animation you have to press the desired shot button to perform Trick Shot + Topspin for example.

Trick Shot is all about timing, so you have to ensure that you hit the right keys on the right time. If you miss the hit some amount from the Energy Gauge will be drained. But if you are able to do this successfully then you will get some amount added in the Energy Gauge. So there is a penalty for missing the shot. All you have to avoid is wasting time when you are ready for a Trick Shot. Practice is very important so that you can hit the keys on the right time.

When To Perform Trick Shot

Trick Shot can be used anytime in the game, but it is best to use when you are close to the ball. Don’t use it when the ball is out of your reach or else you will miss it. And if you still want to attempt then go towards the direction of the ball and then perform it.

Trick Shot will help you to build a lot of energy, you can fill up your Energy Gauge that will later help you to perform Zone Shots, Special Shots, Zone Speed, etc. So if you are using this one regularly then you can easily fill up your gauge and use the energy for powerful shots. Opponents can also perform Trick Shots, so you have to learn to counter those shots.
