If you own the Nintendo 3DS version of Monster Hunter Generations and want to get a head start towards G Rank on Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the version for the Nintendo Switch, then Nintendo and Capcom have you covered.

Capcom added an option into the Switch version of the game that allows you to transfer your old save data from the 3DS to the Nintendo Switch. It’s pretty simple if you know what to do.

First, you need to open up the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo 3DS and download the “Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Save Data Transfer App.” Once you have downloaded it, you need to open the app and select the “Link Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch” option.

This option will give you a password. Keep this screen open.

You’ll then want to load up Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch and head to the main menu. There should be an option called “Data Transfer” that you can select. Once open, you’ll be prompted to enter the transfer password that appeared on your 3DS.

Once you’ve entered the password on the Switch, head back to your 3DS and select the “Save Data Transfer” option. You’ll then need to select “Receive Save Data” on the Switch for the process to begin.

After the save data has transferred, you should then be able to continue the game with your old character on the Nintendo Switch version of the game and continue where you left off, skipping the first legs of the game. Onward to bigger, meaner monsters.
