Earlier today, The Pokémon Company finally revealed the name of the mysterious Pokémon added to Pokémon Go over the weekend: The Nut Pokémon, Meltan.

Earlier today, The Pokémon Company finally revealed the name of the mysterious Pokémon added to Pokémon Go over the weekend: The Nut Pokémon, Meltan.

Meltan is a Steel-type Pokémon that has a body made of liquid metal and can conduct electricity with ease. It’s also a mythical Pokémon, meaning it joins the likes of Mew and Celebi as one of the game’s rarest Pokémon.

Meltan will be available to find in Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee! for the Nintendo Switch, but players will only be able to grab it through linking with Pokémon Go. 

The exact method for how to catch this Pokémon in both games hasn’t been revealed yet. At this time, Meltan appears in Pokémon Go’s overworld, but it always turns into a Ditto upon capture.
