How to get Anomaly Shards in Warframe

Into the Veil.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Anomaly Shards are a rare resource in Warframe. They can only be obtained in Veil Proxima, aboard the Sentient Anomaly. When you killed twenty Sentients aboard the Anomaly, you are rewarded with a single shard.

Anomaly Shards are used to trade with Little Duck, and you can get the following items from her with them:

  • Tenebrous Ephemera – 15
  • Anomaly Captura scenes – 10

How to get to the Veil

The only way to get to the Veil Proxima is to play though Railjack missions the same way you play through the Star Chart, opening up access to the new areas. You will need to clear Earth Proxima, then Saturn Proxima to get to Veil Proxima.

You can join other players as a crew member through the main navigation screen if you don’t have access to your own Railjack yet.

How to find the Sentient Anomaly

The Sentient Anomaly revealed as a Murex ship during the recent community event, will appear on a random node. You will be able to tell which node it is on due to a small, flashing red icon. Load into that mission, and you will be able to find the Sentient ship somewhere in the level and can board it to fight the Sentients.

During the mission, Cephalon Cy will ask you to board the Murex and destroy 20 Sentient enemies as a mission objective. Not all players need to board the Murex, as the Anomaly Shard is a squad drop, no matter what role you are playing in the mission.
