The Witcher 3 has a silly little bug at one of the Abandoned Sites in White Orchard. After clearing all the Ghouls, players will note that the site doesn’t clear as it should. After three years of the game being out, we finally have a workaround for this pesky little glitch.
The Witcher 3 is a big game. It’s one of the best video games ever made, and I’m not afraid to say that. However, due to its scope, there are bound to be some kinks and bugs along the way. One such bug is in White Orchard, where players have long had trouble clearing an Abandoned Site in the southern part of the map. Luckily, we’ve found a solution. Sorry it took us nearly three years.
White Orchard Abandoned Site Bug
The Abandoned Site in question is found in the southern part of White Orchard. If you follow the river south from the Woesong Bridge Signpost, it’s a short distance west of the bridge, and a little further east of the Abandoned Village Signpost. If you haven’t cleared it, you’ll probably see it as a question mark along the road.
When you arrive you’ll most likely be faced with three Ghouls. Naturally, you should kill them. The problem is that, once they’re down, the Abandoned Site won’t clear. Normally you’ll get a short cinematic showing a group of peasants returning to the area, but not this time. This is how the Abandoned Site is bugged. There is a fourth Ghoul that is missing from the party.
To solve this problem, I stayed at the Abandoned Site and meditated for five hours. For what it’s worth, that was 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the game. The moment the mediation was done, I was thrown into a combat situation with the missing Ghoul. After killing this Ghoul, the proper cinematic played, and the peasants returned to the Abandoned Site.
There are bound to be more bugs during your journey through The Witcher 3 beyond this one little Abandoned Site. Be sure to check out all our coverage on The Witcher 3 to make Geralt’s life as painless as possible.
