Back in the Ancient Forest, seek out a Pukei-Pukei if you’re in the hunt for some Poison Sac materials. Don’t laugh at its appearance for too long though, there’s a fight to be had.
We’ve recently been working on locating all the materials required to make the Horizon Zero Dawn Palico armor set in Monster Hunter: World and were in need of some Electro Sac. Then we thought, “Hey, what about all the other Sacs out there?” Did you know that there are four different types of Sacs? I didn’t either!
Where to Find Poison Sac
The four different types of Sacs are based on different elements and can be obtained from different monsters. All are reachable quite early on in the game. For example, the Aqua Sac is obtained from Jyuratodus, the Electro Sac from Tobi-Kadachi, and the Flame Sac from Anjanath. This guide, however, focuses on the Poison Sac, which is obtained from one of the monster with the biggest tongue in the game, Pukei-Pukei.
Pukei-Pukei is found in the Ancient Forest region and can be a bit of a slippery monster to defeat. Not shy to run away from a difficult fight, you’ll want to act quickly and decisively in order to avoid a prolonged engagement. Take advantage of the various paralyzing agents available to hunters and focus your attack on its weak spot, its underbelly.
We suggest you find an Investigation in Astera in order to make your targeted attack in the Ancient Forest extra worthwhile. You should receive some Poison Sac as rewards for defeating Pukei-Pukei, and of course you can repeat this as many times as you need.
