If you’re following the pirate’s goal of amassing enormous wealth, you’ve probably been striking out on many voyages provided by the Gold Hoarders. This guide will help you solve the riddle that is part of the A Stash Buried by the Notable Mark Grandrews voyage.
As part of this riddle, you’ll be vising Lone Cove and Smuggler’s Bay.
Lone Cove Riddle
On Lone Cove the rumours fare, something lies hidden there
Like most first lines in riddles, this just refers to the initial location. Head to Lone Cove and make landfall to reveal the second line of the riddle.
To the Captain’s hammock at the campfire to the North ye should wander, with instruments to play a number
On the northern part of Lone Cove, on a small hill, you’ll find a makeshift camp along with the hammock that the riddle refers to. Equip any instrument and play some music near it to unlock the third line.
From the Captain’s hammock at the campfire to the North, if I remember right, head South-by-South West to the palm trees, unearth my gold there you might
If you look your compass and point yourself due south-by-south-west, you’ll find two palm trees just down the slope of the hill with the hammock. Dig up your treasure chest here.
Smuggler’s Bay Riddle
For gold to Smuggler’s Bay you sail, but I’ll take a wager you will fail
We absolutely won’t fail and will head straight to Smuggler’s Bay. Make landfall to reveal the next line of the clue.
A secret message may be stirred, once the bell at the wooden ruins on the East beach has music heard
Once you’ve find the bell on the eastern beach, you may be tempted to ring it, but that won’t progress the riddle. Instead, equip any instrument and play a short tune.
Discover the cage of the escaped prisoner, where light is dim, step 6 paces West, dig for a chest full to the brim
If you’ve done any of these riddles before, you’ll know that a “cage of the escaped prisoner” refers to a skeleton in a cage, and that “where light is dim” refers to a cave. From the bell, head north along the bay until you find an encampment with a cave entrance. Just inside you will find the cage and can start your paces to uncover the chest.
