Destiny 2: Forsaken – Wanted: Varghul, Fragment of Oryx in the Cavern of Souls

In this guide we show you where to find Varghul, Fragment of Oryx, in the Cavern of Souls. Kill him and hand in the Bounty to get some Ledgendary loot.

Every week Spider, the new vendor and our uneasy ally in the Tangled Shore in the Reef, will offer several Wanted Bounties for us to complete. These bounties are new in Destiny 2: Forsaken and reminiscent of Petra Venj’s Wanted Bounties in Destiny. This guide will help you finish the Wanted: Varghul, Fragment of Oryx bounty, and show you where to find the Cavern of Souls.

Wanted: Varghul, Fragment of Oryx

The Wanted: Varghul, Fragment of Oryx bounty is available for purchase from Spider for two GHOST FRAGMENTS. Its lore text reads as follows:

“Did you know there are three ways to kill a Hive god? How many ways do you suppose there are to resurrect one? Get out there!” – The Spider

Varghul is one of several prisoners who broke out of the Prison of Elders when the Baron’s escaped. You can run into them during the ordinary course of play, and track them down for Spider. Their name will always begin with “Wanted,” making them instantly recognizable. Varghul is hiding out in the Cavern of Souls on Earth.

Cavern of Souls in the EDZ

To get to the Cavern of Souls, head for the Sludge in the EDZ. Head to the Lost Sector in the center (the mouse cursor is near it in the map provided) and venture down the tunnel. This one can be a little annoying, as Varghul has a lot of enemies with him. Take them all out first, as some of them can shield him, so it is better to wipe them all. After that, burn him down with Power weapons and supers. After that, you can hand in the bounty from the Activities tab in your Inventory screen and claim your loot.
