How to get the Ruinous Effigy Exotic Trace Rifle in Destiny 2 – Growth Quest Guide

The Ruinous Effigy Exotic Trace Rifle is now in Destiny 2 if you know how to get it. In this guide, we will walk you through the Growth quest, and help you to get your hands on this new weapon.

Step 1: Missive

Go and interact with the Prismatic Recaster in the Tower to get the Growth quest.

Step 2: Gift

You need to complete the weekly Means to an End quest. Do the Contact public event, then collect Umbral Traces, then finish up by running the Interference mission on Io. Interact with the Darkness near Eris when it is over, and this will move you on to the next step.

Step 3: Pendulum

You need to collect Calcified Light Fragments on Io, Titan, Mars, and Mercury. There are five on each planet, except Io, which has 10, and your Ghost will show you where to go if you just hold it. 

You also need to track down Savathun’s Marionettes on Io and Titan. To find these, search in areas that do not have a Contact public event randomly, but you can normally run into at least one during the Contact event if you want to find them that way. You should be able to find some Blights, and when you destroy them, Taken bosses will spawn. Kill them, then a Champion will spawn. This is the Marionette.

Step 4: Feed

You will need to defeat enemies with Void damage, chain together precision kills, and complete either Gambit or Reckoning matches. You can pretty easily grab the kills while playing either mode.

Step 5: Shape

Return to the Prismatic Recaster to get your reward.
