How does local co-op and online multiplayer work in Hellpoint?

Share in the madness with a friend.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The enemies in Hellpoint are relentless, and they show you no mercy as you roam attempting to make any form of progress. It doesn’t hurt to have a friend backing you up to provide you with assistance. You can team up with a friend online, but you can plug in a second controller to have a couch co-op experience to play with a friend right next to you in the same room.

How to get local co-op working

The local co-op experience in Hellpoint gives you the chance to plug in a second controller to your console to play with a friend. With two controllers in your console of choice, the game should allow you and a friend to play simultaneously. Local co-op is a split-screen experience, so make sure you prefer that and adjust the user interface to ensure that the two of you can see everything in front of you.

How online multiplayer works

At the time of this writing, the developers behind Hellpoint are attempting to enable the game’s online multiplayer. There was trouble with it functioning before the game’s launch, so they took it out before it went live.

When it does work, what you need to do is approach a breach and choose the option to join another player’s breach. You should see this option available to you on the breach menu. While the option is turned off, it will be greyed out. It should return after the developers deem it’s stable for all players to experience.
