After Dragon Week ends in Pokémon Go’s on August 7 at precisely 1 pm PT, Enigma Week begins. It’s the second Ultra Unlock week players were able to activate during Pokémon Go Fest 2020 after completing 16 global challenges. Engima Week focuses on the more mysterious Pokémon, such as the Unown, Deoxys, and, making its debut, Elgyem. You can catch Unown letters U, L, T, R, and A during the event, but they won’t be available in the wild or in the 7-kilometer eggs you receive from friends.
You can catch all of the Unown coming to Enigma Week by taking them down in raids. You have to visit any of the Gyms in your area to see their location and beat them in a battle by yourself or with friends. No matter what type of Unown you fight, they all have the same stats. It’s a Psychic-type Pokémon, making it weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. You want to avoid using any Fighting or Poison-types when fighting them.
It’s disappointing these Pokémon are only available in raids. Many trainers are unable to leave their residences to explore the world because of COVID-19, and most rely on using remote raid passes when trainers on their friend list send them an invite. The remote raid passes are rare, and unless trainers have been sitting on them, they have to purchase them from the in-game shop using PokéCoins or real-world money.
Only die-hard collectors will likely use a remote raid pass to capture these elusive Pokémon because, at the same time, Normal Forme Deoxys five-star raids will be happening. Of the two, Deoxys is far more worthwhile, undercutting Unown in absolutely every way. It’s a bit of a waste.
