Trainers have the chance to vote for their choice of who they want to be the September and October Community Day Pokémon in Pokémon Go. Your options include Caterpie, Charmander, Grimer, and Porygon. The voting takes place on August 22, at 6 PM PT and ends on August 23 at 6 PM PT.
The first-place winner will be available on September 20. The second-place winner will have its Community Day on October 17. On the day of the event, trainers have until 11 AM to 5 PM in their local timezone to capture as many Pokémon as possible, which has an increased spawn. If they evolve the Pokémon during the event, the final evolution receives an exclusive move it otherwise could not learn.
Here are the moves these Pokémon will learn:
- Charmander: Evolve Charmeleon (the evolved form of Charmander) to get Charizard that know the Dragon-type attack Dragon Breath. Dragon Breath gives Charizard a Fast Attack that dishes out damage quickly, and the attack is super effective against Dragon-type Pokémon.
- Caterpie: Evolve Metapod (the evolved form of Caterpie) to get Butterfree that know the Flying-type attack Hurricane. Hurricane offers Butterfree a powerful Flying-type Charged Attack to further strengthen its matchups against Fighting-, Grass-, and Bug-type Pokémon.
- Grimer: Grimer originally discovered in the Kanto region will appear in the wild and hatch from Eggs. Alolan Grimer will appear in Raid Battles. Evolve Grimer or Alolan Grimer to get Muk or Alolan Muk that know the Fire-type attack Fire Punch. Fire Punch would be the first Fire-type attack available for Muk and Alolan Muk, giving them a Charged Attack option that not only charges quickly but also hits Steel-type Pokémon for supereffective damage.
- Porygon: Evolve Porygon2 (the evolved form of Porygon) to get Porygon-Z that know the Normal-type attack Tri Attack. This attack will be new to Pokémon GO and, when used, will have a chance of decreasing the opposing Pokémon’s Attack and Defense.
Voting takes place on August 22, starting at 6 PM PT and will remain open until August 23 at 6 PM PT. The poll will be available on the Pokémon Go twitter page, where everyone will have a chance to vote. You must have a Twitter account to a vote, and for it to count.
