Warframe – Fulmin Build (5 Forma)

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

The Fulmin is a new hybrid weapon that was introduced with Warframe’s Jovian Concord update. Part shotgun, part assault rifle, this weapon is absolutely worth your time.

If you want to, you can read a lot into the arrival of the Fulmin in Warframe. Part shotgun, part assault rifle, the weapon is adaptable to just about any threat in the game. Build it right, and it can put out enough damage to be very relevant in late game content, and while it might not replace your favorites, it should be able to contend with them. In this guide, we will run through a very good build you can put together for the Fulmin. You’ll need to Forma the weapon quite a bit to get the most out of it, but it is worth it.

Now, I can’t take credit for this build. I enjoy coming up with builds for weapons; it is one of my favorite parts of the game. I had been thinking about a good Hunter Munitions build for this weapon (Hunter Munitions should always be considered for new weapons, it is just that strong), but Youtuber LayzarGamingViews beat me to the punch with this one. I’d like to think I would have arrived at this build eventually, but credit where it is due.

The build starts out regularly enough with Serration, Split Chamber, Heavy Caliber, Point Strike, and Vital Sense all bringing base damage stats, critical chance, and critical damage multipliers. After that, we get into some rarer mods. Hunter Munitions isn’t the rarest mod in the game thankfully and will grant a chance for a Slash proc with every critical hit landed. Bladed Rounds and Argon Scope are rarer mods. They can be gotten during the Acolyte event, or from other players via trading. I’d suggest just waiting for the event. Many of the mods in the game, such as these two, and things like Maiming Strike, are just brutally overpriced for what they are.

The basis of the build is that the Argon Scope and Bladed Rounds mods will increase the number of critical hits you get, and the damage they cause, this will then increase the likelihood of those all-important Slash procs. Slash damage is the best damage type in the game right now, as it ignores shields and armor and causes a bleed effect on health. With this build, the shotgun mode will easily deal with any lower level enemies, while the Assault Rifle mod will rapidly strip away the health bars of tougher enemies.

It’s a great build, and I really like it. If you don’t have the mods needed for it, you can try dropping the Bladed Rounds and Argon scope and using Elemental Mods to cause Viral damage instead. It is not as effective, but it’s certainly not bad by any means.

So is the Fulmin worth your time, and five Forma? I believe so; it is an excellent weapon that brings great ways to deal with just about any threat in the game. It won’t kill an Eidolon, but it will kill just about anything else.
