It is possible to turn off AR mode in Harry: Potter Wizards Unite and still play the game just fine. If you want to do this, this guide will show you how.
I have played enough Harry Potter: Wizards Unite to know that I’m not too fond of the implementation of the AR Mode. Not only is it a severe battery hog, but it also results in some long loading screens, and general annoyance when you are trying to get a Foundable. I also find it interrupts my ability just casually to play the game while I am walking around. With AR Mode on, Foundables become a chore, with it off, a quick swipe on the screen and you can be on your way.
Some people may not like being that distracted when walking around, and while they do want to play the game, they don’t want to have to stand in place on a busy sidewalk while trying to deal with a Foundable. You can, thankfully, turn off AR Mode, and in this guide, we will show you how.
How To Turn Off AR Mode In Harry Potter Wizards Unite
There are two ways that you can turn of AR Mode; we will run through both of them here for you. The first is the easiest way, so let’s get that covered now.
When you tap on Trace, and enter an action sequence, you will notice a small slider button in the top right of the screen that says AR Mode. Simple tap this to set it to off, and instead of the annoying AR Mode “Align” portion, you will have a simple Trace on the screen that you can draw out with your finger. The good thing about choosing this option is that it will turn off AR Mode for combat, but the game will still offer you AR Mode for exploration.
If you want to disable AR Mode altogether, you can do this via the menus using the below steps;
- Launch the app.
- Tap on the Suitcase icon on the main screen.
- Tap the small gears icon in the top left. This is your Settings menu.
- Scroll to the camera section.
- Tap on “AR+” to disable all the AR features.
That’s it; AR Mode will be completely disabled. You can also choose to disable AR Mode in combat from this menu as well. I like to have it off for combat, but on for exploration, but whichever option you choose will cut down on battery drain and loading times.
