The doctors in Dr. Mario World are not alone in their fight to beat back the plague threatening their land. The assistants are designed to provide the doctors with minor passives and change the overall gameplay dynamic.
Dr. Marior World released today for iOS and Android phones. Those who are already in the game have done their best to beat back the massive, impending plague threatening to expand beyond what it should and cause even worse issues for those involved. Players assume the role of doctor characters, such as Dr. Mario, Dr. Peach, Dr. Luigi, or even Dr. Bowser, to name a few. These doctors are not alone. They can have two assistants sent with them to aid them in battling this infected horde. Although, who are the assistants, and what is it that they do?

- Spiny Cheep Cheep

Players have the option of using two different assistants at once. Each of them comes with a unique ability, much like the doctors, that aid the player’s doctor during the gameplay. All of these vary in usefulness. For example, Goomba provides players with a one percent increase in their overall final score, whereas the Hammer Bro increases the drop rate of capsules by one point two percent.
What Do Assistants Do?
As previously stated, assistants each come with a single passive that aid the character’s primary doctor during gameplay. With 30 different assistants to choose from, and likely more on the way, the assistants’ passives can make things far easier for players during their game. Players are going to want to level up their assistants, though, as much as they level up their leading doctors. Players can have two assistants activated at the same time.
Unfortunately, there’s no straightforward way to do this right now. Players need to rely on the luck of drawing their ideal doctor or assistant to increase their level through the character roster page. Each doctor and assistant costs 4,000 gold coins, or 40 diamonds, to roll. It’s random, too. To roll for a doctor or an assistant, go down to the “characters” tab on the lower part of the game, and click the “staffing” section.
