Solar Week will be an event in Destiny 2 dedicated to reworking how the Solar damage element affects the game. In this guide we run through what we know so far.

Solar Week in Destiny 2 is expected to play out much as Arc Week did. Arc Week was dedicated to Arc damage, how it works, how the various Arc subclasses played in-game, and it even brought back the old Thunderlord quest for people who had missed out on the Exotic Machinegun the first time.

When Is Solar Week In Destiny 2?

At the moment, nobody knows. It has only been hinted at by Bungie, with no specific information on when it might occur having been released yet. We will update this guide as soon as we know more.

What To Expect From Solar Week

Because Arc Week involved the Thunderlord, people are expecting Solar Week also to involve the chance to get an Exotic Solar weapon. No weapon in Destiny has more presence than the Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher, and there have been hints that this might be included in Solar Week.

In a post to the DestinyTheGame subreddit, Redditor JpDeathBlade gave a vast amount of information that he had datamined from the game files. About Solar Week, the following information was found.

  • Many Solar subclass paths have been refreshed and improved. Visit bungie.net for more details.
  • Many Tower vendors are offering bounties to Solar-wielders. Complete them in style by participating in Solar Singe activities.
  • New Solar-themed emotes are now available at the Eververse store.

This all falls very much in line with how Arc Week played out. On top of that, some references in the data mine have made people think of the Gjallarhorn.

  • Scattered pieces of a greater whole.
  • Rocket Launcher Components

You can easily conclude that an Exotic Quest might be on the way. It can even be read as a call back to how we got the Gjallarhorn in Year 3 of the original Destiny, with the “scattered pieces of a greater whole.” With the Truth Rocket Launcher recently returning to the game, this only leaves the Dragon’s Breath and Gjallarhorn, unless we end up getting a completely new weapon.

It is important to note, all this evidence is very much open to interpretation, so while Solar Week will arrive at some point, Gjallarhorn may not return at all. We will keep you update as Bungie release more information about Solar Week.
