The Dragon Heart is an early gift from an NPC in Remnant: From The Ashes. It will give you a full heal when you are almost dead, allowing you to continue exploring the world, and fighting the strange creatures that infest it. At first, you are limited to just three heals from the Dragon Heart, but in this guide, we will show you how to upgrade it to get more.

Remnant: From The Ashes – How To Upgrade The Dragon Heart

Dragon Heart Upgrade

To upgrade your Dragon Heart, you will need to rescue the Root Mother. The Root Mother is a woman that is trapped in a tree at the Chapel. You will come to this location as you progress the story, and will then need to defend the Root Mother while he frees herself from the tree. Once this is done, you can return to Ward 13, and the Root Mother will be there in the vendor room beside the main Crystal room.

You will need resources to upgrade the Dragon Heart. It will cost 1000 Scrap, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and one Simulacrum. The Scrap can be found anywhere, and the Lumenite drops from the tougher special enemies when you kill them. The Simulacrum is rarer, dropping only from mighty enemies when you kill them. Both Lumenite and Simulacrum can be used in crafting other things, so make sure you know what you want to use it for before you commit.

And that’s it, each upgrade of the Dragon Heart will give you one more heal to use as you explore the world. While other ways to heal, such as Items and mods, do exist, the Dragon Heart is by far the most reliable way, as it will recharge at every checkpoint, or upon returning to Ward 13.
