There are three sub classes per character, and four characters total in Borderlands 3. What if you make the wrong choices? In this guide we will show you how to reset your skill points and respec your character.
Borderlands 3 allows you to pick from four different characters, whom all have three different subclasses each. Then each one has a range of skills and traits, all of which do different things? What if you make some bad choices while you build your character and level them up? Thankfully, it is not very difficult to reset your skill points and respec your character, and you need to know where to go in-game.
How To Reset Skill Points and Respec Your Character
To reset your skill points, you will need to find the Quick Change Machine. This machine lets you pick your character heads and looks, colors, emotes, etc. But it also lets you respec. The easiest place to find one is at Sanctuary, right beside the Fast Travel point and across from the Lost Loot Machine.
Just click on Respec, and it will ask you if you want to do it and give you the cost. Each Respec costs some of those hard earns space dollars, but not that many. Borderlands has always been pretty generous in regards to this, I assume because so many different weapons, mods, and items can lean into different builds, they want you to be able to mix it up quickly. All you need to do is hit yes, and you will get all those skill points back and can redistribute them as you see fit. You can either build the same skill tree you have been using different or opt to try out a new one.
And that’s it, everything you need to know about how to respec and reset your skill points in Borderlands 3.
