Games were different back in the day, and this is apparent in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening when it comes to trying to unlock the Color Dungeon. Getting into this dungeon is old-school confusion in gaming form, so we made this useful guide to help you out.

How To Unlock The Color Dungeon

First up, it’s off to Mabe Village. Head to the library, and make sure you have your Pegasus Boots equipped. Smash into the bookshelves right in front of the door to make the red book fall to the floor. Read the book to discover that “a world of color lies beneath the gravestones.” The above instructions are going to come up on your screen. These are important, and they correlate with five gravestones you can find to the north of Ukuku Prairie.

It is straightforward to get there. Go to the two rocks that block the way to Ukuku Prairie, across from the shop. Throw one of them out of the way, and then climb the ladder to the north. From there, move the rock blocking your way and walk up the path until you find the graveyard.

Head for the gravestones and move them in the following order:

• Bottom right – push downwards
• Bottom left – push to the left
• Top left – push upwards
• Top middle – push to the right
• Top right – push up

Once you get this done, you are going to be on your way to the Color Dungeon.
