How to do all Mega Buddy Timed Research tasks and the rewards in Pokémon Go

A new weekly event hits Pokémon Go starting on September 22, and it’s focused on your Mega-Evolved Pokémon. This time around, you want to focus on making them your buddy during the event. So you can expect to take snapshots of them, increase their happiness, and receive more candy for them throughout the event. Also, completing this event gives you access to Mega Gengar Timed Research when it releases during the Halloween event in October, so there’s an additional reason to make sure you become involved in the event.

The Mega-Evolved Buddy event happens from September 22 at 8 AM to September 28 to 10 PM in your local timezone.

All Mega-Evolved buddy Timed Research tasks and rewards

Here all of the tasks you can expect to work through during this event to receive all of the rewards. Completing the Timed Research before September 28 means the Halloween event in October will give you access to Mega Gengar.

Task 1

• Catch 5 Pokémon – 3 Razz Berries
• Make 5 Great Throws – 3 Poké Balls
• Give your buddy 3 Threats – Houndour Encounter

Rewards: 500 Stardust, 1,000 XP, and 35 Mega Beedrill Energy

Task 2

• Catch 10 Pokémon – 3 Pinap Berries
• Use 5 berries to help catch Pokémon – 3 Poké Balls
• Give your buddy 3 Treats – Buneary encounter

Reward: 1,000 Stardust, 2,000 XP, 40 Mega Beedrill Energy

Task 3

• Catch 9 different species of Pokémon
• Mega-Evolve a Pokémon – 3 Great Balls
• Earn 7 hearts with your Buddy – Haunter Encounter

Rewards: 1,000 Stardust, 2,000 XP, 60 Mega Beedrill Energy

Task 4

• Claim reward – 3 Silver Pinap Berries
• Claim reward – 10 Poké Balls
• Claim reward – 5 Ultra Balls

Rewards: 2,000 Stardust, 5,000 XP, and a Snorlax Encounter
