Is FIFA 21 coming to Nintendo Switch?

Can I buy it for Nintendo's hybrid console?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

FIFA 21, the latest entry in Electronic Art’s long-running soccer franchise, is set to dominate the charts when it launches October 9. This year’s sports sim title will drop on its usual platforms in the form of PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on that date, but one system’s fanbase is unsure about whether it will arrive on theirs.

Nintendo Switch fans have been able to play the last few iterations of FIFA, so you would expect FIFA 21 to be available to buy on the hybrid console. However, not everyone will be aware if it’s being ported to the console. So, will FIFA 21 launch on Nintendo Switch?

Yes, it will. FIFA 21 will be available on the Nintendo Switch, and it will launch on the same date as other systems. This falls in line with previous Switch ports of FIFA games, which have also released on the same day as PC, PS4, and Xbox One. That means that Switch owners won’t have to wait or two for the game to arrive on their systems.

Strangely, the official FIFA 21 FAQ webpage doesn’t state that Nintendo Switch owners will get the game on the same launch day as other platforms. The only mention of a Switch port on that page is the FIFA 21 Switch Legacy Edition, which states that the latest kits and squad updates will form part of this entry. New game modes and gameplay innovations, though, won’t be present in the Switch version as they have parity with FIFA 20’s Switch edition.

However, the Nintendo store reveals that the Switch port will be released on October 9. The game will take up 13.5 GB of space on your SSD, too, so make sure you have room to install it before launch day arrives.
