Genshin Impact

Which twin should you choose in Genshin Impact?

Choices, choices.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Genshin Impact, the action-RPG game from miYoHo, opens with a cutscene and a little bit of a lore dump. Two twins who travel between worlds are set upon by an angry god, and a battle ensues. At this point, you will need to pick which twin you wish to play as.

If you are wondering which twin you should pick, and if there are any differences between the two, then the answer is no. This is a simple gender choice and will not impact your game in any other way. Both twins perform the same in the game, learn the same abilities, use the same equipment, and go on all the same quests.

As soon as you pick tween the twins, you will need to assign them a name, and then the rest of the cutscene will playout, and the game will begin. After that, you will be off on your adventure using your chosen twin, with a mission to somehow find and rescue the twin that you didn’t choose.

Being twins, both characters even look quite similar, with blond hair, reasonably slim builds, and yellow eyes. Both characters begin the game with a single ability, and they will both begin with the following stats:

  • Max HP – 912
  • Attack – 41
  • Defense – 57
  • Elemental Mastery – 0
  • Max Stamina – 100

The twins will even start the game with the same weapon, equipped with a dull blade with a base attack damage of 23 points. So, as you can see, the choice between twins is strictly cosmetic, so you can happily pick whichever one you wish to play as.
