You will have heard that Destiny 2 is going free-to-play when it moves to steam, but when exactly is Destiny 2 coming to Steam?
Destiny 2 is going free-to-play, giving away a huge chunk of historical content for people to enjoy with no charge. This coincides with the game moving from the Blizzard App to Steam, but when is Destiny 2 coming to Steam?
When Is Destiny 2 Coming To Steam?
Destiny 2 is coming to steam on October 1! So, tomorrow! Destiny is currently down for maintenance, but when the service comes back up tomorrow, it will be free-to-play on Steam.
The above infographic shows all the content that will be available in Destiny 2 for free on Steam:
- The Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind campaigns
- Year 1 Exotic Weapons and Armor
- Free Roam Access to ALL destinations
- Black Armory Forges
- Gambit and Gambit Prime
- The Menagerie
- Year 1 Nightfall Strikes
- The Crucible and Strike Playlists
- Year 1 Raids and Raid Gear
- In-game events such as Iron Banner, The Dawning and Crimson Days
Destiny 2 is available for pre-load on Steam right now and will be playing from October 1, and 10 am PDT, 17:00 UTC. It will not include the Forsaken Expansion or the new Shadowkeep Expansion.
The Forsaken Expansion will set you back $25, while the Shadowkeep Expansion will cost $35. It’s probably not much of a shock that the total cost of the available paid content for new players comes to $60.
Still, you have a massive amount of content for free and will be able to play with your friends straight away because you will start the experience at 750 Power, the same as your friends who have been playing for years now.
