Square Enix plans to have a live showcase of their upcoming games at this year’s E3.

With Sony not having a conference for E3 this year, Square Enix took Sony’s usual spot. The publisher will have a live showcasing, presenting their future games. Their live showcase is slated to happen on Monday, June 10, at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.

Despite the success of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix has faced some financial losses this past year. This year’s E3 may be the time the company turns things around. With the Final Fantasy VII Remake teaser recently being released, fans have been clamoring for more news at this year’s E3. All eyes on our their live presentation, with fans hoping it will show off more FF VII and other games.

We do expect the Final Fantasy VII Remake to make an appearance at this year’s E3, along with several games. Here’s our list of what we expect to see from Square Enix at this year’s E3.

What Should We Expect To See Square Enix Reveal At E3?

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Without a doubt the biggest upcoming game in Square Enix’s repertoire, the Final Fantasy VII Remake is one of the most highly anticipated video games currently. A remake of what is arguably Square’s most iconic video game, the FFVII Remake was strangely dormant for years. It wasn’t until a new teaser for the game was reveal in Sony’s most recent State of Play that we finally got to see more of the game.

We got to see more of the gameplay, and what Aerith looks like in the new game. The teaser ends with the promise that more will be revealed in June. Though E3 is an obvious assumption, many fans are also assuming that new information will be shown off in a Final Fantasy VII concert that will also be taking place around that time. Either way, we do not doubt that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will have a presence in E3 this year.

Kingdom Hearts III DLC

Kingdom Hearts III may have only just released, but we expect that Square has more to announce for the game. The publisher has already announced a DLC for the game with a fan translator claiming the working title for the upcoming it will be called “ReMind.” While it isn’t as much of a guaranteed as the Final Fantasy VII Remake, we wouldn’t be surprised if Square revealed what the upcoming DLC for the game will be about, and maybe show some early footage of it. It is currently expected that the DLC will be an episode, similar to the DLC episodes in Final Fantasy XV.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition and Dragon Quest Builders 2

Square Enix has two different Dragon Quest’s games heading to the Nintendo Switch. Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive was revealed in an earlier Nintendo Direct. It is expected to be the definitive version of Dragon Quest XI for the Switch and is slated to release this fall. It would make sense for Square Enix to show off more of the game in E3. Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a sequel of the favorite cult original. Again, it would make sense for Square to show off more of this game at E3. It is also possible that both games will have a presence in Nintendo’s E3 presentation, rather than Square’s.

Life is Strange 2

Life is Strange was a pleasant game that acted more like an interactive movie, rather than a video game. The sequel, Life is Strange 2, is following its footsteps. Since Life is Strange 2 is released episodically, just like its predecessor, there are still more episodes to be released. It would be smart for Square to show off more footage of future episodes for Life is Strange 2 at this year’s E3.

Untitled Avengers Game

We have known that Square Enix has been developing an Avengers video game for a while, yet we have barely heard anything about it. We don’t know what kind of game it is, or what would it look it. There have been plenty of rumors and speculations, with a common theory being that the game will be an action-adventure game that focuses on melee gameplay. It was also rumored to be Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, though that turns out to be false. Will we finally see something of it at this year’s E3; possibly.

Final Fantasy XVI? (And Other New Games)

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of games that we know of that are being currently developed by Square Enix. This year’s E3 may be when we know more of the games they have been working on. Since we don’t know what other video games they are currently developing, we can only guess. Will Final Fantasy XVI finally be announced in this year’s E3? Since Square seems to focus on finishing the Final Fantasy VII Remake, it is very doubtful. But then again, who knows?
