A quick guide on how to set up cross-platform play in Rocket League on the Playstation 4.
Rocket League is now officially part of the Playstation Cross-Play Beta program. This is great news for Rocket League players on all platforms, as it means that fans of Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC can all play games together! Fans have been clamoring for this for quite some time, so it is great to see it implemented into the game.
How To Set Up Cross Platform Play
Cross-Platform play should be enabled by default, but if you having trouble getting it to work there is a way to make sure it is actually switched on. To make sure that Cross-Platform play is enabled, go to the Main Menu, then into the Options menu. Navigate to the Gameplay tab and ensure that the Cross-Platform Play box is ticked. It is that simple, and you would take the exact same steps should you wish to turn Cross-Platform Play off.
At the moment, you will not be able to set up Cross-Platform parties, but the ability to do just that will be coming to the game in Rocket League’s upcoming update. The cross-platform party system will allow you to set up a party, across the various platforms that people can play Rocket League on, with just the push of a few buttons. We will keep you updated on this new feature as more information is released.
At the moment, you can play with a cross-platform party by using the Private Match function. Select Play in the Main Menu, then Private Match, followed by Create of Join Private Match. That is everything you need to know about cross-platform play, now that it has arrived on Playstation 4.
