Crafting metal is one of three components you can earn in Apex Legends, but what exactly does it do and how do you get some? Here is our guide.
Apex Legends Crafting Metal is a special currency that can be earned by playing with Legends Tokens and Apex Coins. The problem is that when you are catapulted directly into the game, everything becomes a little confusing. Apex coins are used to purchase items from the rotating shop, while legend symbols are spent to unlock legends and new color schemes for the weapon skins you already own. On the other hand, Crafting Metal in Apex Legends can be spent to unlock the cosmetics you want, from Legend skins to banner poses and vocal lines. Here is our guide on how to recover the Crafting Metal.
How And Where To Get The Crafting Metal in Apex Legends?
Technically, you can’t buy Crafting Metal with Apex Coins, Legend Tokens or real money. The only way you can get more Crafting Metal is by opening Apex Packs, which are the small loot crate robots. Crafting Metal seems to drop very frequently from them though – for better or for worse – so the more Apex Packs you open, the more Crafting Metal you’re going to accrue.
For the first 20 levels, every time you level up, you earn an Apex Pack. This means you can start earning Crafting Metal early on, but you’ll quickly realize it’s not enough. To unlock a single legendary item, you need to fork out 1,200 Crafting Metal. When you’re only earning 15 Crafting Metal per common drop, you quickly realize it’s one hell of a grind even to unlock one legendary.
As we mentioned above, Crafting Metal is spent on unlocking cosmetics. Head to the Legends tab of the lobby screen to look at all the cosmetics you can grab for your characters, while the Armory tab has everything to do with weapons. There’s plenty to browse through, with approximately 1,880 cosmetic items in total. It’s impossible to earn even half of the items in the game without spending real money, so make sure you spend your Crafting Metal wisely.
Of course, this may change in future with the start of Apex Legends season one and the upcoming battle pass in March, but at this early stage, you’ll struggle to get all the cosmetics you want unless you get fortunate with your Apex Packs.
Legendary Tokens
Another way of getting some cool new skins is to earn Legendary Tokens. The Legendary Token will also be given to you as you level up.
While they can be used to purchase skins featured in the store, it is best to save them up to unlock a new character.
There are two locked characters, i.e., Caustic and Mirage, these characters have some amazing abilities, so it would wise to check them out. They are not cheap to unlock; they require either 750 Apex Coins or 12000 Legendary Tokens.
12,000 is a very hefty price considering that you only get 600 Tokens on a level up. However, it is not too farfetched and is achievable, but will require a good amount of grind.
That’s all you need to know about how to recover Apex Legends Crafting Metals. Have fun!
