Death Stranding is about delivery the post through foul rain and weird goo-ghost attacks. You will be trying to sneak past BTs, cross hazardous terrain, and connect the world. It’s no small task, and it is not a very traditional game. It can be difficult to figure out how much a challenge to set for yourself in Death Stranding, so it pays to experiment a little and change the difficulty level until you find something that suits you.

How to Change the Difficulty in Death Stranding

The good news is that you can change the difficulty in Death Stranding at any time. To do it, follow the steps below:

  • Hit the Options button on your PS4 controller
  • Hit the left button on the D-Pad
  • Open the System menu
  • Open the Options menu
  • Open Game Settings

From there, the first option will be to change the difficulty. Death Stranding has four levels of difficulty: Very Easy, Easy, Medium, and Hard. Which difficulty level you wish to play on is entirely up to you, but you can change it at any time if you are struggling to get through a section of the game.

The game’s Very Easy mode is designed for people who are only really interested in the story, and any relevant world exploration. The hardest difficulty is designed to give a fairly brutal experience for people who wish to challenge themselves. Most players will probably opt for something in the middle.

Changing the difficulty setting will impact things like how much damage you take, how hard it is to avoid BTs, and how quickly your stamina runs out. To find the perfect difficulty level to play, don’t be afraid to experiment and change it if you find the game too easy, or too hard.
