In the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 patch, Treyarch has added the IX (Nine) Zombies mode characters to Blackout. They joined the already stacked roster of skins and characters available but compared to their Voyage of Despair counterparts; they’re kitted out in the ancient Roman gear. Each of them has a series of character missions you need to complete to unlock them, which usually revolves around finding their specific character item and having a whole lot of luck on your side. Here is how to unlock IX Bruno in Black Ops 4 Blackout.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout – How To Unlock IX Bruno

Bruno is arguably the most difficult of the four IX characters to unlock in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout. First, you need to find the Lion Pauldron item. This can only be found inside the Mystery Box, so head to one of the three blue beams of light at the start of the match and kill all of the zombies defending it. Then cross your fingers, because there’s no guarantee the Lion Pauldron will spawn inside. If it does, pick it up and keep it in your inventory for the rest of the game.

You now need to get your hands on a Combat Axe. If you haven’t used one before, they’re basically the same as the Tomahawk or Throwing Knives from the previous Call of Duty games. You need to get a kill with one. This is easier said than done because they’re hard to get on target, but when you do knock someone, you also have to ensure you clean them up. If you don’t finish them off and they get revived by a teammate, then it won’t count.

Finally, after killing someone with a Combat Axe with the Lion Pauldron in your inventory, you need to finish the game with the item still in your inventory. If you take it out at any point for any reason, it will become invalid, and you’ll have to redo it all. So don’t drop it!
