Your character’s Star rating is the basis of their strength in Genshin Impact, and if you want to have an easier time dealing with the game’s late-game content then you will need to try and get some powerful 5 Star Characters.

How to get 5 Star characters

To get 5 Star characters you will need to make wishes. To do so, you will need to get Intertwined Fate or Aquaint Fate, depending on the banner that you are pulling the Wish from.

Wishes are random pulls from a loot pool that can award different types of items, weapons, characters, and resources at different rarities. As the most powerful of the possible reward, 5 Stars are also the rarest. The game does contain a pity system that will help you avoid going for a very long without at least a 4 Star or a 5 Star pull, however.
