All Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade additions and improvements – graphics, PS5 features, and more

Intergrade benefits immensely from the PS5 upgrade.

Final Fantasy VII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura detailed in a recent interview with Famitsu the changes coming to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the PlayStation 5 update from the PlayStation 4 title. Along with a new DLC episode starring Yuffie, the new version will feature plenty of graphical upgrades, a host of new PS5 features, and even a photo mode.

According to Nomura, “lighting and texture are the main adjustments in terms of graphics, though environmental effects such as fog have also been added to further improve the sense of presence and immersion in the world.” There are also several modes that allow for both 4K resolution and 60 FPS settings.

The adaptive trigger feature for the PS5 DualSense controller is partially supported, meaning that players will be able to feel certain aspects of gameplay in the form of vibrations and tightened resistance.

However, when asked whether if Intergrade supports 3D audio and haptic feedback, Nomura asked fans to please wait for the next full installment of the game to be developed from scratch in order to support those features.

Photo mode

Regarding the brand new photo mode, players can shoot from a higher angle than they can with the in-game camera. The downside is that unlike in Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind, you can’t change facial expressions or poses. “It is a mode [made] to cut out a single scene as a memory,” Nomura stated. However, Intergrade does allow for players to use the mode immediately and with little fuss.
