All of Kangaskhan’s weaknesses in Pokémon Go

There's only one choice.

Kangaskhan is a unique choice in Pokémon Go, and if you’re going to fight against it, you’ll likely encounter it quite a bit in the Ultra League. It’s a Normal-type Pokémon, so there are only a handful of ways you can defeat it. It has quite a bit of health, too, making it a difficult Pokémon to take out in a battle, so if you’re struggling against fighting it, we recommend reconsidering your strategy.

Kangaskhan is Normal-type Pokémon. It’s only weak against Fighting-type attacks, and it’s only resistant against Ghost-type moves. If you avoid using any Ghos-type Pokémon or a combatant with Ghost-type attacks, you can reliably damage Kangaskhan quite a bit in a battle. However, for PvP, it has an attack of 151, a defense of 140, and a stamina of 193. Kangaskhan can dish out some heavy damage to you, making it hard for any Fighting-type Pokémon to stand up to it.

When battling this Pokémon, you do have choices that can directly counter Kangaskhan. You can use Articuno, Machamp, Sirfetch’d, Heracross, Chesnaught, Obstagoon, or even Swampert. These are Pokémon that can defeat Kangaskhan. You really only want to have one Fighting-type Pokémon to use against it in battle, so we’d recommend picking Sirfetch’d, Heracross, Chestnaught, or Machamp. Of the four, Machamp is likely the easiest to catch given how common it is to find a Machop in the wild.

You’re probably going to encounter Kangaskhan the most in the Ultra League. Most trainers will use it as their first Pokémon or as a final, unorthodox choice. It’s not the best choice, and it’s nowhere near the top of the rankings, but it can be useful to throw a player off their groove.

Kangaskhan is only weakness is to Fighting-type attacks. It’s resistant to Ghost-type moves, so avoid using a Pokémon that knows that moves as much as possible.
