All summer 2020 event snapshot Pokémon in Pokémon Go

Summer time!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The summer event in Pokémon Go went live alongside the friendship challenges leading to the arrival of the Pokémon Go Fest 2020 event from July 25 to 26. There are exclusive Pokémon available during this event, but not everyone may encounter them while wandering around in the world. To make it easier, Niantic has included the chance for these increased exclusive Pokémon to show up in snapshots. A snapshot is when you take a picture of your Pokémon and with the backdrop of the real world around them. After you take the picture, a random Pokémon may have jumped into the frame. It’s random, and it doesn’t happen every time, but if you don’t see any spawning around, it doesn’t hurt to give this tactic a try.

Here are some of the Pokémon many trainers have reported to sight when taking a snapshot during the summer 2020 event.

  • Slowpoke
  • Krabby
  • Petilil

These are the primary three choices you have the chance to encounter. Its possible trainers will also have the opportunity to capture a Summer Style Pikachu using this same method, but we haven’t been able to confirm this to be the case. However, in the past, Niantic regularly includes an event-themed Pikachu in these events, so it’s entirely possible it has not been reported, primarily because of how frequent they show up already during the event.

These will only be available during the summer 2020 event, which should end on July 22. You can prepare for Pokémon Go Fest 2020 to happen on the weekend of July 25 and 26, and you can expect to see the Shadow Mewtwo making an appearance with Giovanni.
