Best base HUT right wingers in NHL 21

The best base HUT right wingers.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

We’ve already gone over which base left wingers can help you dominate the HUT competition in NHL 21. Let’s now move on to the best wingers from the right side of the ice. As far as right wingers go, there’s a plethora of options available. But which right wingers are the best? Let’s go over our picks for the best HUT right wingers in NHL 21, starting with former Hart Trophy recipient Nikita Kucherov.

Nikita Kucherov

  • Team – Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Overall – 86
  • Synergy – Wingman (1)

Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov is one of the game’s premier point producers. So it’s no surprise to see that his shooting and hands attributes are high. Couple those numbers with good skating stats, and a booming left-handed shot that’s prime for one-timers, and it’s easy to see why the former Hart Trophy winner is on the top of this list.

Vladimir Tarasenko

  • Team – St. Louis Blues
  • Overall – 85
  • Synergy – Shutdown (1)

Like Nikita Kucherov, Blues winger Vladimir Tarasenko can be a left-handed shot from the right side of the ice. Tarasenko has solid shooting attributes (87 SSA, 85 SSP, 89 WSA, 86 WSP), and the star winger also possesses above-average Speed (87). If you need a scoring winger on the right side, but don’t have the Coins to grab Nikita Kucherov, Vladimir Tarasenko would be a strong back-up option.

Mikko Rantanen

  • Team – Colorado Avalanche
  • Overall – 85
  • Synergy – Passing Playmaker (1)

Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen has been a point-producing machine in the NHL for the past two seasons, so it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the Finland native is up there among the best wingers in the game. Rantanen might not possess above-average skating attributes, but he does have strong shooting ratings. In addition, Rantanen’s Passing (87) and Deking (87) attributes can help move the puck around the ice, as well as make it difficult to take the puck off the 6’4” winger from Colorado.

Patrick Kane

  • Team – Chicago Blackhawks
  • Overall – 84
  • Synergy – Magician (1)

Patrick Kane (almost) has all the attributes you would want out of a winger: good skating ratings, a wicked shot, and exceptional puck handling attributes (91 Passing, 92 Deking). Considering how good of a playmaker Kane is, it’s almost like having another centerman out on the ice. However, the Blackhawks’ star forward does have a somewhat significance flaw: lack of size. Kane’s 5’11” frame might scare off some players who want big, strong wingers to forecheck and dominate on the boards.

David Pastrnak

  • Team – Boston Bruins
  • Overall – 84
  • Synergy – Howitzer (1)

Bruins forward David Pastrnak, much like the other names we have mentioned in this article, can bring it offensively. ‘Pasta’, as he’s affectionately known by the Bruins fanbase, has great puck handling attributes to go along with an above-average shot. But what makes Pastrnak even more valuable is that he’s one of the better players that possesses the Howitzer synergy. The Howitzer, which is arguably the best player synergy in HUT, boosts Speed, Slap Shot Power, Wrist Shot Power, and Agility, If Pastrnak’s base card already has good skating and shooting ratings, just imagine what those could be with a +3 boost.

Other notable players

If you’re looking for some more right wingers, but don’t have the change for the ones we listed above, here are a few more names to consider.

  • Mitchell Marner
  • William Nylander
  • Mark Stone
  • Blake Wheeler
  • Phil Kessel
  • Claude Giroux
  • Brock Boeser
  • Andrei Svechnikov
