Best moveset for Bouffalant in Pokémon Go

Here comes a stampede.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Bouffalant is a large, bull-like Pokémon you can capture in Pokémon Go. Unfortunately, it’s only available to catch for those who are in the New York City, USA area. You can find it in this region wandering around, or you can hatch it from a 5-kilometer egg you obtain while visiting the area. Because of how rare it is and how difficult it is to find, not everyone will have access to it. Those who do will want to make sure theirs has the most potential to use the best moves possible.

Bouffalant is a Normal-type Pokémon, making it weak to Fighting-type attacks, but it’s resistant to Ghost-type moves. Its maximum CP goes up to 2,792, it has an attack of 195, a defense of 182, and stamina of 216. For a Pokémon without an evolution form, it’s doing pretty well for itself, similar to Tauros. Many will say that it’s a more definite contender to use in the Great and Ultra Leagues, the PvP game modes available in Pokémon Go.

Here are all of the available moves it can learn:

Fast attacks:

  • Mud shot (Ground-type)
  • Zen Headbutt (Psychic-type)

Charged attacks:

  • Earthquake (Ground-type)
  • Megahorn (Bug-type)
  • Skull bash (Normal-type)
  • Stomp (Normal-type)

Of the moves available, you want to give Bouffalant mud shot. Zen headbutt may seem appealing, but mud shot can generate energy quickly. That makes it a far more attractive option for those looking to use this Pokémon in a PvP scene. With that out of the way, you want to focus on the charged attacks available to it. Realistically, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. The best choice you want to go with features a Bouffalant that knows mud shot, stomp, and megahorn, or skull bash and megahorn. It’s an incredibly fast Pokémon that can dish out plenty of damage to the weaker opponents.

You won’t want to make this a go-to raid Pokémon, but when competition in the Great and Ultra Leagues, you’re good to go.
