This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

With people trying to display patience for the next-generation Madden 21, EA Sports is slowly starting to reveal ratings for each player. For starters, ratings for the next class of rookie quarterbacks and wide-receivers of the league have finally been released. In addition, Madden has also released a fun guessing game video, with Hall-of-Famer Steve Young, on their Twitter for the new members of the NFL.

The best rookie quarterbacks

Out of the last few Madden installments, Madden 21‘s ratings of rookie quarterback is the most unexpected. Usually those who are drafted earliest have the highest skill. But, for instance, late-first rounder Jordan Love actually has leaped frogged highly-regarded, top 10 pick, Justin Herbert. Here is the entire rundown of how each quarterback will fare in this installment (in order of best):

  • Bengals’ Joe Burrow – 76 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 83 Speed, 86 Acceleration, 68 Strength, 82 Agility, 77 Awareness, 67 Carrying, 86 Throwing Power.
  • Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa – 73 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 81 Speed, 85 Acceleration, 63 Strength, 79 Agility, 76 Awareness, 69 Carrying, 88 Throwing Power.
  • Packers’ Jordan Love – 71 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 81 Speed, 86 Acceleration, 62 Strength, 77 Agility, 65 Awareness, 67 Carrying, 90 Throwing Power.
  • Chargers’ Justin Herbert – 70 Overall
    • Subset ratings: 82 Speed, 87 Acceleration, 71 Strength, 80 Agility, 70 Awareness, 69 Carrying, 92 Throwing Power.
  • Eagles’ Jalen Hurts – 68 Overall
    • Subset ratings: 86 Speed, 89 Acceleration, 72 Strength, 88 Agility, 65 Awareness, 66 Carrying, 84 Throwing Power.

The best rookie wide receivers

When it comes to this position, there aren’t too many surprises. Henry Ruggs III is undoubtably the best, but just by a thread, in EA’s eyes. However, it looks like CeeDee Lamb may eventually beat him out, in overall rating, as his catching is a phenomenal 84 rating. Here are the five best rookie receivers you’ll see in Madden 21:

  • Raiders’ Henry Ruggs III – 76 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 98 Speed, 97 Acceleration, 61 Strength, 87 Agility, 69 Awareness, 73 Carrying, 83 Catching
  • Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb – 75 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 90 Speed, 90 Acceleration, 69 Strength, 90 Agility, 76 Awareness, 74 Carrying, 84 Catching
  • Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy – 75 Overall
    • Other subset ratings: 91 Speed, 93 Acceleration, 64 Strength, 93 Agility, 76 Awareness, 75 Carrying, 81 Catching.
  • Vikings’ Justin Jefferson – 74 Overall
    • Subset ratings: 91 Speed, 90 Acceleration, 56 Strength, 89 Agility, 73 Awareness, 74 Carrying, 83 Catching
  • Eagles’ Jalen Reagor – 73 Overall
    • Subset ratings: 93 Speed, 92 Acceleration, 62 Strength, 94 Agility, 67 Awareness, 69 Carrying, 79 Catching.

EA Sports will be releasing more player ratings throughout the week, from Madden NFL 21‘s current roster. Of course, things could always change during the preseason, but for now, we also know who the best overall veteran quarterbacks are in this entry. Madden NFL 21 will be releasing for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Aug. 28 or three days earlier, if you pre-order the MVP Edition.
