Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 is quickly approaching. Mercenaries of Fortune launches on Wednesday, June 22, and there’s a heap of new content coming with it. The Season 4 roadmap (shown below) has been published, so read on for the breakdown of what’s coming at the kickoff and joining up in the following weeks.
New Map: Fortune’s Keep
The biggest addition with Season 4 is Fortune’s Keep, which launches alongside Mercenaries of Fortune. It’s a smaller, more close-quarters map than Caldera. There are a dozen points of interest on Fortune’s Keep, ranging from a town to a winery to a lighthouse. The Call of Duty blog goes into deeper detail about some of these POIs. For example, Town is inspired by Mediterranean villages, Keep is a fortress converted into a mercenary hideout, and Winery is designed like a traditional three-lane map.
Fortune’s Keep will also be the first place to try out two new Warzone features. Black Market Run Contracts put special loot in the Black Market Buy Station, but only for a limited time at the start of a match — you’ll have to book it there to get the goods. There are also Cash Extractions, in-match events in which AI mercenaries looking to lift gold off the island in choppers. Take them out before they take off, and their loot is yours.

Map Changes: Caldera
The main map is seeing some changes in Season 4 as well. The theory that Storage Town would return is now confirmed to be true: the POI from the original Warzone map Verdansk has been added to Caldera. The Call of Duty blog boasts “over a dozen” other POI changes, like additional pathways and lines of sight. You’ll also find ATMs in Plunder mode, giving you a chance to pick up more funds.
Additionally, there’s a new Armored SUV to drive around the island. It has a built-in turret, and players can fire their own weapons out of the windows. The SUV also has a boost to get you to your destination in a hurry. It can be shut down by the new EMP Grenade, so watch out for those. They’ll also scramble player radars after detonating.
New Modes & Events
Golden Plunder is a limited-time mode that puts a new spin on Blood Money. The player count is 120 (up from the regular 100), and all cash is dropped upon death. Likewise, the cash required to win is a hefty $5 million.
Launching with Season 4 is the Mercenaries of Fortune event, which consists of eight challenges. Complete them, and you’ll earn rewards like a weapon camo, charm, emblem, sticker, and calling card. Finish all eight to get a gold skin for the aforementioned Armored SUV.
Mid-Season Update
Everything mentioned so far is launching when Season 4 kicks off, but there’s more to come after that. The roadmap promises some sort of “rebirth of the dead,” and that word choice is no accident. Rebirth Island will be rejoining the Warzone rotation at some point in the future.
