Can Carlos get a lockpick at the hospital in Resident Evil 3 Remake?

Doing the rounds.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

This article will contain some pretty extensive spoilers for Resident Evil 3 Remake, so if you don’t want major story points ruined, it may be best to avoid reading it. With that out of the way, let’s talk about Carlos and lockpicks.

You spend a lot of time playing as Jill Valentine, but eventually, she will get taken out of action by the Nemesis when it infects her. This lays poor Jill low, and it is up to Carlos to step up and be the protagonist for a while.

As you make your way through the hospital as Carlos, you will see simple locks that would be no problem for Jill, as you can find a lockpick earlier in the game. If you are wondering if Carlos can get a lockpick or any other way to open these locks, then the answer is no.

You will need to wait until further in the game when you will be exploring the hospital as Jill Valentine to be able to open these locks.

Now, one thing you should do in the hospital while playing as Carlos is to open up the safe on the second floor. If you open it as Jill, it will be empty. The code for the safe will be on a clipboard in the operating room and should be Left 9, Right 3. This will get you the assault rifle dual mag upgrade for Carlos.

There is a chance the code will be different in your game, so be sure to confirm it by heading to the operating room before you try to open the safe.
