Can you catch a shiny Kecleon in Pokemon Go? – February 25, 2023

How good are your chances of finding it?

Kecleon can now appear in Pokémon Go. It began to appear shortly after Chespin’s Community Day event, and then players were able to spot this Pokémon in the wild. Locating this tricky, invisible Pokémon is a challenge because it differs from how players traditionally find Pokémon while playing. If you’re lucky and skilled enough to encounter this Pokémon, you might also wonder whether you can catch a shiny version of Kecleon in Pokémon Go?

Does Kecleon have a shiny version in Pokémon Go?

We can confirm that the shiny version of Kecleon has arrived at Pokémon Go at the start of the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn event. When Kecleon initially arrived at the end of the Chespin Community Day event, it could not be shiny, and the developers held off on releasing the shiny version for this significant, much larger event. It will continue to be available every time it can appear in Pokémon Go moving forward.

The chances of encountering a shiny Kecleon are relatively low, but it can occur if you’re willing to go out of your way to find it. Unlike other Pokémon, Kecleon only appears invisible on Poké Stops, so trying to find it might be a challenge, but we can confirm there’s an opportunity to discover a shiny version.

The normal and shiny versions are not too different from each other. The normal version has a red stripe through its mid rim, whereas the shiny version has a blue one. You’ll be able to confirm you found the shiny version based on the tiny stars on its name when you’re attempting to catch it. If you can catch one, we recommend giving it a special name to make it stand out from any other standard Kecleon you have in your collection.
