Cats in the Dreaming City and “You Lack Something” in Destiny 2: Forsaken

Stumble across some cat statues in the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken, but they tell you that “You lack something?” We’ve got answers.

After you unlock the Dreaming City in Destiny 2: Forsaken, you’ll no doubt be in awe of all the activities and secrets available in this new area. One of the peculiar items you may run across in the Dreaming City is small statues of cats.

You Lack Something

One of these cat statues can be found inside the Oracle structure where Petra Venj takes you during the “Awakening” mission that unlocks the Dreaming City. If you parkour all the way to the top-most balcony and head to the right, you will see it sitting in front of a window.

When approached, you will see a “You lack something” message. These cats want something that you don’t currently have in your inventory.

A Small Gift

The cat statues require you to have A Small Gift in your inventory. You can obtain these consumable items by completing patrols, public events, or opening chests in the various Dreaming City regions. They drop at random, and there is no guaranteed way to get them, so keep playing and participating in activities until you get one.

Present a Gift

Once you’ve acquired a small gift, you can revisit any of the cat statues you’ve found so far and “Present a gift” to it. This will consume the gift and reward you with a piece of legendary gear. The cat statue will then disappear.
