Control, the upcoming action game from Remedy, has finally revealed the minimum and recommended specs for the game on PC on the game’s Epic Store page. It’s pretty beefy stuff you will need, which is not surprising as visually the game has looked quite remarkable in the footage I have seen.

Control will have support for both DX11 and DX12, and will also support Ray-Tracing. For Ray Tracing, you will need at least an RTX 2060, so no real surprises there.

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows 7, 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or better
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX580 or better
  • 8 GB of Ram
  • DX11
  • GTX 2060 for Ray-Tracing

Recommended Requirements

  • Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5-8600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or better
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti / AMD Radeon VII or better
  • 16 GB of Ram
  • DX11 / DX12
  • GTX 2080 for Ray-Tracing

For additional features, Remedy has listed the following on the game’s Epic Store page. Widescreen support 21:9 / Remappable controls / Uncapped frame-rate / G-Sync / Freesync support. I’d strongly advise going to the games Epic Store page and having a look at the posted screenshots, as the Ray-Tracing does make the game look quite stunning. It is also great to see the game launch with widescreen support, as sadly many games still don’t prioritize this at launch.

Control is set in a fictionalized New York, where an otherworldly threat attacks a secret government agency. I’m quite excited about it because elements of the gameplay bring me back to titles such as PsyOps: The Mindgate Conspiracy. The good news is that at the minimum specs, most people should be able to run the game, but it will cost you some image quality. The recommended specs are definitely on the beefier side of things, however.
