After you finish up the main Destiny 2: Forsaken campaign, you will have a quest that will get you the Ace of Spades, Cayde-6’s famous gun. There will be a few hoops to jump through, the first of which is that you need to get “invasion kills.” In this guide, we clear up a few issues and show you how to get this done relatively quickly.

How To Get Invasion Kills

First up, we need to clear up exactly what the quest wants us to do. What it means by invasion kills, is actually that it wants us to kill invaders! When playing Gambit, members of the other team can invade your game, trying to kill you and interfere with your progress. To progress with this quest, we need to kill five of these invaders.

One of the things that complicate the issue is that invaders get an overshield, making them more difficult to kill. As such, you are likely to lose a straight up 1v1 against one of them. The first thing to keep in mind is that you have the advantage of numbers. Working well with your teammates means you can easily chew through the invader and send them packing. This means playing Gambit with some friends is the best place to start on this quest, as it becomes effortless to pass off the kills to the player that needs them.

If you do find yourself playing Gambit solo, then dragging the invader into an area they are going to take damage from the environment is a good idea. A well-placed grenade will strip away the shield, and you can then finish them off. If you want to be prepared, I would suggest breaking out Sturm and Drang. When you hear the invader is coming, switch to Drang and take out some enemies. This will give you a buff to your precision damage with the Sturm, and a couple of well-placed shots will drop the invader. It’s just about doing everything you can to tip the odds in your favor.

The real trick is to engage with the invader with a degree of patience. Rushing into a fight with a guy with an overshield, who is potentially bringing a rocket launcher with him, is going to see you dead, more than likely until he leaves.
