Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out, and people are asking if it has a story mode. Read on to find out.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out. The FPS titan has had its annual installment, and this one is shaping up to be a bit of a doozy. While it seems odd that people are wondering if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has a story mode, I can forgive anyone there confusion. There has been a lot of talk about the game, and what modes are in and out this year.
Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Have Story Mode?
The answer is yes, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does indeed have a story mode. The story involves 14 missions and brings back some characters that season veterans will be very familiar with. Once again, you play from the perspectives of different characters as they go about completing their missions, tying into an over-arching narrative about the perils of war. The missions play out in Europe and the Middle East, and you will be playing as both highly skilled and specialized troops and freedom fighters.
I think much of the confusion about the story mode stems from the fact that the series has brought in and dropped modes from release to release, and last year’s Black Ops 4 did not have a single-player campaign. This year we get the story mode, the traditional multiplayer mode, and the Spec Ops cooperative mode.
Zombies and the Battle Royale Mode have both been dropped from this title for release, at least. So, if you are interested in playing through a traditional Call of Duty storyline, featuring all the hype and bombast that we have grown used to over the years, then rest assured that the story mode is waiting for you this year.
