Protecting yourself is a little tricky in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord. Most players who want to have the best defenses usually have to place up a shield in their spare hand, forcing them to use a standard one-handed weapon in the other. Alternatively, the two-handed and polearm weapons do have blocking options, but they don’t hold up compared to a shield. The previous Mount and Blade games had an auto block feature. Does Bannerlord have it?
At the time of this writing, it does not have an auto block feature. However, because players of the game have been asking for it, developers TaleWorlds Entertainment have confirmed they plan to bring the feature back. A customer support representative spoke to a player who asked about it. They told them, “Hi, We disabled the feature, but there are many requests. So we are planning to add it back. We will announce it on our forums. Best regards, TaleWorlds Support Team.”
While the feature is not in the game as of this writing, Bannerlord players can expect to see it return in a timely fashion. The game released to early access at the end of March and has been updated regularly by the developers. Because of these regular updates, players should know that TaleWorlds plans to keep up with the high demand of its player base, ensuring bugs and game-breaking issues receive their attention as quickly as they can offer it.

We’ll update this guide once we know the auto block feature has returned to the game and how to unlock it. It could be under the settings, ensuring players have the option to turn it off or on at their discretion.
