Does the Secret Portal in Destiny 2’s Io Region Hold the Black Spindle?

A secret portal has been discovered in the Lost Oasis region of Io in Destiny 2 today. At this moment, the community is attempting to solve the secret behind it. Current speculation is that the Black Spindle exotic sniper rifle is the reward. The community has been speculating about its arrival for weeks now.

Secret Portal – What We Know

Here’s what we currently know about this portal.

It is located in the Lost Oasis region of Io and will appear after defeating a Taken mini-boss, Urzok, Aspect of Hate, that spawns in the area. He spawns alongside the Taken Blight public event in the area. Urzok, the Hated was a Hive Knight from Destiny 1 who was notoriously difficult to kill.

It may also be Drevis, Aspect of Darkness, or Ta’urac, Aspect of War.

Enter the Anomaly

It is called “Enter the Anomaly” when you approach, and that is exactly what you’ll want to do.

Entering the portal will lead to a time-limited Lost Sector event. Upon completing the Lost Sector inside the time limit, players can find a jumping puzzle. It is this that the community is currently trying to solve.

At the very end of the lost sector (where the chest is) turn around and look towards the entrance. There is a little ledge you can jump on and kill a blight which leads you to a secret jumping puzzle.

The Whisper

Once you’re inside, you’re now on a quest called The Whisper in an area called Grove of Ulan-Tan. You have 20 minutes to complete this quest. Make sure not to get lost and reach the jumping puzzle.

The jumping puzzle is quite lengthy and very time-consuming.

The reward seems to be Whisper of the Worm, which is similar to Black Spindle.
