Paper Mario: The Origami King, the latest installment in long-running RPG franchise, looks like it’ll be a surefire hit for Nintendo. The recent announcement about its release date means we don’t have long to wait for it either, so you’ll have to start preparing for its arrival.
Part of that preparation will be clearing space on your Nintendo Switch hard drive, so you have enough room to install the action-adventure title. If you’re unsure about how big the Paper Mario: The Origami King file size is, you’ll want to read on.
How much space do I need to install Paper Mario: The Origami King?
Given that recent Switch titles, such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, have required 6.6 GB and 13.6 GB respectively, you may think that Paper Mario: The Origami King could lie somewhere in the middle.
Well, you’d be wrong. Paper Mario: The Origami King will only need 6.5 GB of SSD space to be installed onto your Switch console. That’s according to the game’s official page on the Nintendo website anyway. If you look at the US and UK Nintendo eShop game listings, you’ll see that it requires 6.4 GB to download and add to your gaming collection.
In the grand scheme of things, 0.1 GB of difference between the two listings isn’t substantial, so it’s not worth fretting about. Just ensure that you have this amount of room on your SSD to install Paper Mario: The Origami King when it launches on July 17, 2020.
You can pre-order Paper Mario: The Origami King now and, if you decide to do so digitally, you’ll be able to preload it ahead of its release date.
